Dogs, Bikes, Stars, & Stripes
The annual 4th Of July Bike Parade at the Emporium of Postmodern Activities is something we do each year to get the kids stoked on 2-wheels and provide a morning activity before we head off to afternoon backyard BBQs and the fireworks start blasting.
We teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club of Venice again and did face-painting, bike decorations, prizes, and round-the-block parade. Family fun was the regular order for the day, and this year we added a new special element, Deus Hotdogs! Everybody got to take home a limited edition t-shirt to commemorate the occasion and the proceeds from the dogs went to the Boys & Girls Club of Venice.
A Deus Dog starts with humble elements: A Nathan’s Famous hot dog on a bun made of bread. But the finer points of taste and style of a Deus Dog come into play with the selection of toppings: Habapeño Mustard Seeds, Tennessee Chow Chow, Apple Onion Jam, chutney, gourmet sauerkrauts, and more. The possibilities are endless and this sort of DIY hotdog customization and Freedom Of Choice is exactly what our founding fathers had in mind when they declared our glorious nation’s independence on the fourth day of July in the year of our Lord, seventeen seventy six.
Special thanks to Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, Sunset Gazpacho Co. and everybody who came out Deus to support The Boys & Girls Club of Venice!
