Cruisin’ Java: Part IIII
It’s a wrap! The shooting of I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night is officially complete. It’s with a whole lotta sadness that our two-week cruise through Java also comes to an end. We’ve had too much fun for our own good.
Both Zye and Matty put the brave face on as we said goodbye to our brothers from Javanese mothers. Husni, Giang and Deni are for us, the key to this place. They took us in with open arms, introduced us to their friends and families and let us share their waves. We couldn’t ask for better friends and hope to one day repay our unsung heroes.
Not quite so emotional but still frustrating was the goodbyes to our borrowed DTs and Fiat sedan. I’ll admit I miss my DR but neither it nor the Ute at home will have the same nostalgic feel that those cool machines have.
I would say that if not for calling Noosa Heads my local, I’d be pulling out hair at the prospect of leaving this place…but that’s not totally honest. What I really have to look forward to in coming home is surfing similar waves with hundreds of people. Please excuse me for trying to believe that home will compare. If I don’t, I’ll be bald.
With much regret I must now put an end to our Crusin’ Java installments. Not forever but certainly for now.
