Live Sessions at The House Of Simple Pleasures.
The night of Mardi Gras saw the birth of Deus Live Sessions at the Deus House of Simple Pleasures, a fortnightly event that celebrates local musical talent. The doors were flung open in the early evening by hordes of keen revellers, wanting to get around local live music.
Young Henrys came to the party to serve the people, so did Jack Daniels, while the Ballz ‘N’ All foodtruck popup kept bellies full. Local legend Patty Town kicked off the night with some originals, and kept the music flowing for a good hour and a half, split over two sets. For the second coming of the ‘Live Sessions’, another local musician, Steph Grace graced our ears with soulful originals, and covers.
The spirit of rock ‘n’ roll, and oil stained grunge was well and truly in full swing. The food and beverage menu was filled with weekly specials. A steady stream of thirsty punters lined up at the bar all night, and they were serviced accordingly with a delicious line-up of cocktails specials, local wine, and cheap tinnies. Ballz ‘N’ All Foodtruck were welcome back to the Deus Kitchen, and belted out some of the best meat & veggie balls we’ve ever tasted.
With the full Deus Kitchen menu also on offer, it is safe to say that nobody went home hungry. Everybody’s ears were left wanting more just as Patty, and Steph announced the last songs to their sets, and just as expected the crowd demanded an encore. The flag has been planted, welcome to ‘Deus Live Sessions’, welcome home.
