THE R NINE T BUILD DIARIES: ENTRY EIGHT.

Posted 6 years ago by Deus Australia

The R NineT’s time at the MotorRetro garage has come to an end. Although it was a short stay, a lot happened to the Big Flat Twin under the MotorRetro roof.

She is now fitted with a bespoke (and much bigger) tank which includes a new housing for the fuel pump and ignition, some snug new rear and front fenders and a fully fettled rear sub frame for the new seat pan and tail section which were all hand shaped and expertly massaged by the capable hands of Vaugh and Georgio.

She is loaded onto the trusty Deus yellow magic van heading back to home base for its final disassembly.

The seat pan needs padding and Jeremy gets busy shaping the foam into the perfect profile before it gets wrapped in some dinky-di Australian bush grown leather (more detail on that soon). The parts that will receive the kiss of the airbrush are wrapped and sent over to the spray house for some special enamels.

Its only a matter of weeks before this special custom goes for its first run.

To be concluded…
