New Yorker Dan Cassaro is an enthusiastic reader of the open highway.
Dan Christofferson, a ward of the high desert, was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Together they lead YOUNG JERKS, a creative studio in Brooklyn. Dan & Dan deploy the language and typography of early and mid-century American commercial art to offer, in their words, unsolicited advice and reasonably good vibes. Their work peppers Deus Ex Machina’s back catalogue of logos and branding, including some of our most beloved insignia.
The boys’ latest exhibition GET RIGHT was brought to life at the Deus Residence of Impermanence. Tokyo’s Residence hosted a showcase of their collaboration with Japanese helmet marque, SHOEI, as well as an offering of their latest customised dead stock garments and over-dyed hand printed fabrics. It had been SHOEI’S participation in the Deus Japan Bike Build Off 2016 that inspired the collaboration, with the centrepiece being a selection of customised helmets.
Fuelled by GET RIGHT and in the time-honoured tradition of bringing our gifted friends into the Deus family, YOUNG JERKS have created the artwork for our SS17 Seasonal Classics collection, putting their spin on Classic Address Tees and Caps.
