Oily Rag: The September 2026 Edition
Oily Rag - The September 2026 Edition
Seasons change, stars align, and the cosmic shift brings new perspectives and time for friends new and old. September was a feast for the eyes and the soul, with a heady mix of craftsmanship, creativity and the usual chaos feeding our collective spirits.
Our Creative Director headed over to London for a very special exhibition, friendships were renewed in the dust of Caramulo Motorfestival, and a selection of Japanese autos made their way to Venice.
A love letter to great designs and even better times.
Until October,
Team Deus
Pentagram x Deus Ex Machina
London was calling and we answered. Well, Carby Tuckwell did, and he flew in to host a talk at Pentagram’s London studio to mark the opening of the Pentagram x Deus Ex Machina show at Osh Gallery, as part of London Design Festival 2026.
A meeting of machines, culture and creative minds, the exhibition brings together design, craftsmanship and the culture of making. Centre stage: an original 1965 Mini Cooper S race car wearing Matt Willey's livery design, flanked by a series of limited edition tees featuring work by Pentagram designers Matt Willey and Piotr Woronkowicz, alongside hand crafted one-off designs from Stevie James and Jesse Chick of our Camperdown studio team.
It’s on until 29th October if you’re lucky enough to get to London, otherwise you can get your fix with a little taster here.
Noise, Dust, and Good Company: Caramulo Recap
Meanwhile, over in Portugal the Deus crew headed to the Caramulo Motorfestival for a dose of noise, dust, great friends and good times. Just what the doctor ordered and what we’d consider all the ingredients for an epic weekend.
Rides, runs, plenty of stories and a community that lives for all things two and four wheeled. Caramulo had everything we love: great machines, big vibes, and a whole lot of freedom.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, rode with us, or simply shared a moment with the Deus community. Until next time, Caramulo. See you on the road.
Bayside at the Emporium, Vol.2
You know what they say, if it’s nice, play it twice. And so we did it again: round two of Bayside at the Emporium, which saw a cross-section of Japanese automotive culture congregate at the Emporium of Post Modern Activities in Venice.
Hosted with our friends at Bayside California, it was another sunny morning of artistry, nostalgia, and the people and stories that continue to make automotive culture what it is.
